Project Overview:
Technology Used: Leica RTC360 3D Laser Scanner
Duration on Site: 4 Days
Total Scans Captured: 686 Scans
Scope of Work
Our team was tasked with capturing accurate and comprehensive 3D data of a school facility in Iowa for architectural documentation and future renovation planning. The project aimed to produce a detailed point cloud dataset that would serve as a foundation for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital twin development.
Methodology
Using the Leica RTC360, known for its high-speed capture and precision, we conducted 686 laser scans over a 4-day period. The scanning workflow was strategically planned to cover both interior and exterior areas, ensuring minimal disruption to the school’s operations and complete spatial coverage.
Deliverables
-
High-resolution point cloud
-
Registered scans aligned to site coordinates
-
Project summary report with scan overview
-
Prepared for downstream processing into Revit BIM model
Outcome
The successful completion of the scanning phase delivered a high-quality dataset, enabling accurate modeling and analysis. The project stayed on schedule and was executed with safety and efficiency, meeting the client's expectations for accuracy and detail.
