Project Overview:
In September 2020, our team was engaged to deliver a comprehensive Scan to BIM model for a Purchase Gas Station, following a detailed field survey conducted by one of our clients using a high-resolution laser scanner. The laser scan data was the foundation for developing an accurate and information-rich 3D Revit model, tailored to support future renovation, maintenance, and facility management tasks.
The client provided a complete point cloud dataset, which captured the site's existing conditions with high fidelity.
Key Modeling Details:
The final 3D Revit model included:
-
774 Pipes
-
582 Pipe Fittings
-
412 Pipe Accessories
-
35 Special Equipment Elements
All elements were modeled to LOD 400 standards, ensuring accuracy in geometry and spatial alignment. Special attention was given to ensure coordination among systems and adherence to the scan data for reliable as-built representation.
This project is a strong example of how Scan to BIM services can streamline facility documentation, enhance project understanding, and support asset management for gas stations and other utility-intensive facilities.
